“BuddyBox: A Hug in a Box”

It can be tough to know the best ways of showing support to loved ones who are struggling through tough times. I know that I often struggle to find the right words and actions to help, although I care very much. Lately, I’ve been thinking about putting together thoughtful packages of gifts e.g. illustrations, random puzzles, colourful trinkets.

I got the idea from Blurt, a charity that increases awareness and understanding of depression. They offer “BuddyBox: A Hug in a Box.” BuddyBoxes are sent out each month to a person of your choice and the contents are a surprise.

Although such gifts aren’t going to be the solution to anyone’s troubles, they do show someone that they’re in your thoughts, which may just spark a smile and some hope.
